Work with collections
Understand a collection's structure and settings before adding records.
A collection groups records that follow the same content model, such as articles or project references. Each record is an item. A collection is different from a product collection, which groups products manually.
Review an existing collection
- Select the intended CMS site, then open CMS → Content → Collections.
- Open a collection. In Collection summary, check its name, structure, status, record count, and slug key. The slug key is generated when the collection is created and cannot be changed later.
- Open Settings & contract to see the fields each item uses. This content model determines which fields editors fill in and which are required.
- Open Items to see the records. To work on them, follow Create and publish collection items.
The fields and structure types available to a site depend on its setup. If a needed structure or field is missing, contact support before creating a workaround.
Create a collection when needed
If your team is responsible for setting up a new collection, select Create collection from the Collections list. Choose an available Structure type, enter the localized Collection name and optional Description, review the generated Slug key, then create it. The collection starts active. Check Settings & contract before adding items so you know what the selected structure requires.
You can edit the collection's display name and description for the selected content language. Changing a collection's status to Archived affects its availability, so check the pages that use it before archiving.
